Aled Jones will present the Easter Sunday episode of Songs of Praise from Bangor, when viewers will hear the Easter story. Aled also celebrates the hundredth anniversary of the Royal Air Force with a visit to RAF Valley.

The show, which was filmed at the beginning of March, will be shown on Sunday 1 April 2018 at 17:00hrs on BBC One Wales, featuring Easter hymns from Bangor Cathedral and a special performance from Côr Glanaethwy.

Aled Jones joined the choir at Bangor Cathedral at the age of nine and was lead soloist within two years, although he was never Head Chorister, he went on to achieve fame performing ‘Walking In The Air’ for Channel 4’s animated version of ‘The Snowman‘, a successful music career has been followed by his work presenting on television and radio.

Young Choir of the Year

The Young Choir of the Year competition, which was due to be recorded in Bangor on 3rd & 4th March but was postponed due to severe weather warnings, has now been rescheduled for Saturday & Sunday 21st & 22nd April, at Pontio Arts Centre, between 2.30pm – 6.30pm.

This is a brand-new singing competition for young choirs whose members are 18 years old or below and will be presented by Katherine Jenkins and JB Gill.
