There’s a big change in the weather on the way this weekend with the forecast predicting rain, wind and possibly thunder along with much cooler temperatures, which will be a shock to the system after the warm, dry weather recently.

Showery rain will develop later this afternoon, although the cloud may break up to reveal some sunny spells too.

Saturday will be cooler and fresher, with good periods of sunshine but also a risk of some heavy showers and thunderstorms breaking out.

Sunday will be a wet and windy day with outbreaks of heavy rain together with strong winds in the morning, these slowly easing through the afternoon.

Monday promises to be a brighter day with spells of sunshine but a few well-scattered showers. Showery rain is expected on Tuesday morning before becoming largely dry during the afternoon with sunny spells and isolated showers.
