Polka Dot Travel agents have warned Facebook users about a football ticket scam, which involves a Facebook user advertising tickets for the Premier and Champions League.

The travel agents have warned that they believe the facebook profile, set up under the name of ‘Steve Edwards’ is fake and that he has no association with Polka Dot Travel.

The scam involves advertising the tickets on local for sale pages, money being taken by bank account credit and the unsuspecting buyers are then directed to a Polka Dot store to collect the tickets, however the tickets do not exist.

The facebook account claims to be from Wrexham and has used the Polka Dot and Official Premier League logo. The ‘seller’ is also a member of the ‘Manchester United Home & Away Ticket Group’ and the ‘Liverpool Football Club Tickets Spares/Sales’.

A statement from the store read: “Scam Alert – PLEASE SHARE –
DO NOT BUY ANYTHING FROM HIM ESPECIALLY FOOTBALL TICKETS.

“This guy continues to post advertising football tickets for sale in the local areas. He’s absolutely no association to Polka Dot Travel.

“He asks you to pay by BACS then directs you into a Polka Dot Store to collect!!
He’s even copied our logo from google! His profile is fake.

“2 x people have been in who have been affected by this scam.

“Police are aware and the fraud team are aware!”
