North Wales Police have launched an appeal for witnesses after a man was assaulted in an unprovoked attack at the city centre bus stops in Bangor last night.
Police were called shortly after 10pm on Thursday, 19th April 2018, following a report that a man has been assaulted at the ‘Bethesda’ bus stop on Ffordd Gwynedd.
Officers attended the scene and arrested a 39-year-old man, who remains in police custody at this time. The 61-year-old victim was taken to Ysbyty Gwynedd in Bangor and has remained in hospital.
Sergeant Dana Baxter from the Bangor local policing team said: “This was an unprovoked assault on a man who was just waiting for his bus to return home.
“We know that there were a few people in the area at the time and we are appealing for them to come forward to assist with our investigation”
