Several Pass Plus driving courses will be open to drivers aged 17-25 in various locations in Gwynedd, including Bangor.
Pass Plus is a practical training course for drivers to improve their skills and drive more safely. It can be taken at any time although it should be most useful to new drivers in the year after passing their test.
The course offers a chance for new drivers to improve their driving skills, which means there is less risk of an accident, whilst potentially lowering the cost of car insurance.
The Pass Plus course covers driving:
- in town
- in all weathers
- on rural roads
- at night
- on dual carriageways
- on motorway
The course will consist of a theory session followed by practical sessions, You’ll normally spend at least 5-6 hours driving, this will be in the instructors car.
You won’t take a test but you’ll be assessed throughout the course. To pass you’ll have to reach the required standard in all modules.

Wednesday 25th of October 2017 – Porthmadog Fire Station
Thursday 26th of October 2017 – Bangor University
Thursday 16th of November 2017 – Bangor University
Monday 20th of November 2017 – Caernarfon Fire Station
Monday 4th of December 2017- Bangor University
Thursday 14th o December 2017 – Pwllheli Fire Station
Wednesday 17th of January 2018 – Porthmadog Fire Station
Thursday 22nd of February 2018 – Caernarfon Fire Station
Thursday 22nd of March 2018 – Pwllheli Fire Station
The course which is usually costs £150, is subsidised by Gwynedd Council will cost just £20.
