New Artwork brightens up Bangor High Street
A new artwork on Bangor High Street, which has recently been completed by artist Pete Jones, has already made a good impression on visitors to the city centre.
The painting which can be seen in the Kyffin area of the High Street, also portrays the message ‘Peidiwch â bod ofn gofyn am gymorth’ (don’t be afraid to ask for help), highlighting the important issue of mental health awareness.
‘Don’t be afraid to ask for help’
Pete said: “I was approached to design something colourful that also raised the issue of the many people who are afraid to ask for help with potential mental health issues, hence the slogan ‘Don’t be afraid to ask for help’ and I also wanted it to feature positive symbols with the helping hands which form trees.”
Pete has enjoyed working on the project and he hopes it has a positive impact on the city, he said : “It’s been really enjoyable to do and the response from the passing public has been really good. Hopefully it is a positive addition to the environment in the Kyffin area.”
