Read construction are inviting local businesses to a ‘Meet the Buyer’ event for the potential of working on the new Ysgol y Garnedd primary school in Bangor.
As the main contractor, Read are looking to connect with local businesses at the free Meet the Buyer event which will be held in Bangor on 3 May 2019.
The main contractor would like to raise awareness to local businesses of the opportunities available within this project. They are particularly, but not exclusively, interested in meeting with the following trades: metal stud walling, bricklaying, stonemasons, flooring, plastering, decoration, fencing, tarmac, landscape and demolition.
The new, 420 pupil school, will be constructed on the Friars School field while the existing Ysgol y Garnedd is still in use, providing fourteen classrooms, two Additional Learning Needs classrooms, a Cylch Meithrin along with a number of different teaching spaces, staff and administration areas and a large hall.
Once the new school building is completed the existing buildings will be demolished to make way for an additional car park and sports fields. The new Ysgol y Garnedd is part of a £12.7 million investment in primary education in Bangor.
Iolo Rhys of Read Construction, said: “Read have actively encouraged local supply chain involvement to schemes for many years and we’re committed as ever to engaging local companies on the Ysgol y Garnedd scheme.
“This is an excellent opportunity to meet our team, discuss prospects and start or renew partnerships.”
This event includes allocated 1-2-1 appointments with the Read Construction team. If you would like an appointment, registration is essential, and you will be contacted to arrange an appointment time. Companies that do not register for an appointment by 26th April will not be seen.
