Entries are now open for next year’s Bangor 10km & Half Marathon Races. The races will take place on Saturday 6th October 2018.
The Bangor event is proving to be very popular and this years event sold out, with over 600 runners.
This race starts and finishes in Bangor city centre and goes out to the coastline, into the wonderful Penrhyn Castle Estate then back to and along the Garth Pier over the Menai Strait, taking in views of Anglesey, Snowdonia and the surrounding North Wales coastline, then back to the finish in the city centre.
This year’s 10K was won by Russell Bentley from Eryri Harriers for the third time, with a new course record of 32:37. The first female runner to finish the 10K was Sian Beck of Prestatyn in a time of 43:47
The men’s Half Marathon winner was Robert Fox from York, with a time of 1:25:01 and the female winner was Emma Bailey of Barlick Fell Runners, in a time of 1:33:35
There is also a children’s 1/2 mile fun run, where all the children receive a medal for running.
