England World Cup Gingerbread men have been sabotaged at Morrisons in Bangor after all their heads were snapped off! The sale of the gingerbread men, which are decorated with a St. George flag and a football, may have been considered to be in ‘bad taste’ by the perpetrator, given Wales’ failure to qualify for this year‘s World Cup in Russia, which starts this week.

The sale of England World Cup merchandise at Asda in Caernarfon last month, which included hats, flags and water bottles branded with the St George’s Cross, sparked complaints which resulted in the merchandise being removed.

Councillor Craig ab Iago, Gwynedd Council’s cabinet member for housing, leisure and culture, called for customers to boycott the shop, claiming that Asda were “ignorant”.

While some customers were offended by the sale of England merchandise other customers said it was “ridiculous” that anyone was offended by the display.
