Bangor Cricket Club have won the North Wales Premier League with one game to spare.

Having set the pace for most of the season, Bangor needed to beat St.Asaph to avoid a final day showdown with last year’s champions and local rivals Menai Bridge next week.

The game at Bangor’s Ty Newydd ground was reduced to 25 overs per team because of rain. With Bangor winning the toss and electing to field, St.Asaph set about their task, Nathanael Scott top scoring with 52 for the visitors. St.Asaph reached 120-8 from their allotted overs, leaving Bangor an achievable but by no means easy task.

Meanwhile rivals Menai Bridge lost at Connah’s Quay ensuring that Bangor were crowned 2017 Champions!
