Over one hundred children under the age of sixteen, with some as young as three years old, have received counselling at the new Rape and Sexual Abuse Support Centre (North Wales) in Bangor over the last 12 months.
The new Bangor unit, which is part financed by the Welsh Government, is based in Parc Menai.
The unit includes four counselling suites to provide support to adults and children, and is being officially opened today (Friday). The charity also offers support across North Wales.
The charity, which has supported over 3,000 people, started in 1983 as the Rape Crisis Line, in 2005 the name was changed to the Rape & Sexual Abuse Support Centre North Wales, as it more accurately reflects the support offered.
