Tickets for Sir Bryn Terfel’s concert at Pontio theatre in Bangor, sold out in just over an hour this morning.
Sir Bryn will be performing at Pontio for the first time next February, the tickets went on sale at 10am and just after 11am all the tickets had sold out.
400 Tickets Sold in an Hour
400 Tickets were available for the concert and cost £40 each, but fans had no hesitation in snapping up the tickets for this great event. Individuals were able to purchase a maximum of 4 tickets per person.
The world famous bass-baritone opera and concert singer, will be performing at the theatre to launch the Wales International Harp Festival IV (April 1-7 2018) on the day that Festival President, Dr Osian Ellis CBE, celebrates his 90th birthday, which is Thursday, February 8th 2018, the concert will start at 7.30pm.
Sir Bryn was due to appear at Pontio at the ‘Opening Gala’ in October 2014, but this performance was cancelled because building work on the theatre hadn’t been completed in time.
Elen ap Robert, artistic director at Pontio added, “We are delighted to be working in partnership with the International Harp Festival to stage a concert which will see Bryn Terfel performing with us here in Pontio for the very first time, a historic occasion.”
Sir Bryn Terfel said: “How exciting, I am so pleased that we have finally found a date for this incredible concert at Pontio. I am very much looking forward to singing in the theatre for the very first time, in the concert to celebrate harpist Osian Ellis, one of Wales’s most iconic musicians.”
