A man has been arrested after handing drugs to a police officer in Bangor that he mistook for a customer.

The incident occurred shortly before midnight on Saturday 12th January, when the 24 year old suspect approached a plain clothes police officer from the Western Priority Crime Team in Bangor and handed him a large quantity of drugs.

The officer then identified himself and the suspect was arrested on suspicion of possession with intent to supply and offering to supply a controlled drug.

Police then searched the man’s address uncovering a quantity of cannabis, scales and a substantial amount of cash.

The man has now been released under investigation.
