Pupils from Gwynedd School of Dance & Performing Arts in Bangor, along with members of the adult choir BanCôr, have donated a cheque for £1,200 to Team Irfon, which helps local patients and families affected by cancer.

The dancers and singers have spent the last year raising money for Team Irfon by organising performances, raffles and other fundraising events and the cheque was presented recently to Irfon Williams’ wife, Rebecca Williams, and Manon Williams the Alaw Cancer Unit’s Matron, at the Performing Arts Centre’s Awards night.

Natalie Robb, Principal at Gwynedd School of Dance, said: “Pupils have raised money for Team Irfon for many years and are proud to support such a wonderful cause. We have so much admiration for Irfon’s wife and family, and will continue to remember Irfon with every pound we raise. We are all very motivated by the fact that every penny we raise helps local families.

“BanCôr itself was set up in memory of Irfon Williams in September 2017, and the choir has grown in strength and number since it began under choirmaster Kiefer Jones.

“Working with Rebecca and the Awyr Lâs Support Team to help families in this area affected by cancer is something I am very proud and honoured to be able to do. Here’s to many more years of fabulous events, raising money towards such an important and well-loved charity!”
