Brothers Kian, 8, and Jack, 6, from Bangor, have been spreading some happiness this Easter after ‘Hatching’ an ‘Egg-cellent’ plan to collect Easter Eggs and give them to children less fortunate than themselves, who are unwell or to children who might not receive an Easter egg this year.

The boys set up an appeal asking for any individuals and businesses to help by donating Easter eggs, and in total they collected 283 Eggs and also boxes of sweets and chocolates.

The Eggs and sweets were then distributed between five local organisations, Dewi Ward at Ysbyty Gwynedd, Bangor Women’s aid, Action for Children, Social Services and Ty Gobiath, all in time for Easter.

The boys’ mum, Donna, said: “Thank you to every single person who has helped my boys in their appeal. The response has been more than I could have ever imagined.

“Those who received donations were so grateful. The smiles and gratitude made it all worth while. I am so proud of what the boys have done and with how they behaved when visiting places where children were poorly. The staff were amazing with them.

“Another big thank you goes out to our family and friends who helped make this happen, Kian already wants to do it all again next year.”
