Armed Police respond to robbery at the Deiniol Centre in Bangor

Armed police officers have responded to an incident in the Deiniol Centre in Bangor this afternoon – at the Shoe Zone store in the shopping centre.

 

Police responded to the incident which occurred at approx 2.30pm – a man entered the store and threatened staff before making off with an undisclosed amount of cash – the suspect is believed to be still at large. Police said that the shop assistant targeted has been left shocked by the incident but thankfully wasn’t injured.

The man is described as being in his mid-20s, with short brown hair. He was wearing dark grey coloured tracksuit bottoms with lighter panels and a green T-shirt.

Police have now issued an appeal for information following the robbery.

“We are appealing to anyone who was in the vicinity at the time or who may have seen someone acting suspiciously in the area to contact police. Our enquiries are ongoing and officers are keen to hear from anyone who believes they have any information which may be relevant to the investigation.”
