An appeal has been made to help a young Bangor family move into a new home for Christmas, after the mother to three children has been diagnosed with terminal cancer.

Melanie, 34, is mum to three beautiful young children and a wife to Andy. In the last 18 months she has undergone a major bowel surgery, in which she found she had cancer and has also received six months of chemotherapy.

In July this year she received the devastating news that the cancer has spread to her liver, pancreas and lymph nodes and she has received further chemotherapy treatments. Sadly when having received scan results in late November, Mel was given heart breaking news that she was terminally ill with only months to live.

A fund raising page has now been set up to donate so the family can move in and enjoy their new home together this Christmas, whilst the children of the family remain unaware of the awful news.

Bangor Community Group have also decided to re open Santa’s Grotto in Deiniol 10am-2pm this Thursday, Friday & Saturday with all money raised being donated to the family.

If you can you spare any time to help please contact Bangor Community Group via their Facebook page.
